Quick Squawk Update...Drum Roll, please

In about 20 minutes, my husband (the crazy driver) will be taking me to my first writing award ceremony! I'm a bit excited and very nervous!

In July, I submited one of my unpublished children's stories, called The Noise, to the Detroit Writing Room to apply for their Annual Writer's Award. In September I was notified that I won either 1st, 2nd, 3rd place or honorable mention in the Children's Book category.

The Noise is a very silly story about a little dog whose snores are causing problems all around the world. Reporters with very unusual names report on mysterious things happening everytime they hear the loud, ear shattering sound. Little do they know, the sound is coming from a very tiny dog taking a nap on her doggie bed.

Tonight I find out what place I was awarded for my story. The Noise will be published in Detroit Voices along with all the other winning stories in all the categories.

I'll post an updated tonight to let you know how it went!
