Kelly Poulin's Michigan Book Signing November 15

You're invited to a book reading with Kelly Poulin at Salem South Lyon Library. November 15, 11-11:30 am. Storytime, signing, and more.

My favorite part about being a published author and blogger is being able to talk to my readers...especially my young readers. Yesterday, I was able to visit my kindergarten students from last year who have now graduated onto first grade this year. I read my new book, Pastor Jay, to the kids and handed out the stuffed animals that are characters in the book. Whenever a stuffed animal appeared in the story, the kids would lift them in the air when we read that specific part of the story. We had so much fun together and it was an absolute joy seeing my students from last year again!

After reading Pastor Jay, one of my buddies strutted up to me and asked me when I was FINALLY going to write a story with him being my main character.

"Come on, Mrs. Poulin, write a story about me!" he said with a charming smile.

Okay, Mr. R, I'm working on it!

Another one of my little friends told me that this year, he has new superhero powers that are different from last year's superhero powers (since he is a year older and wiser). His new power is telekinesis, which absolutely caught me off guard...what is telekinesis? This guy is only in first grade and he is using huge 11 letter words that I don't even know. His ability to move objects with his mind and to charm his teachers would definitely be a GREAT way to start another story!

These kids have a wonderful way of sparking my imagination, and they make me want to write more. When they get excited about my stories, I get more excited about my stories.

I hope to see more of my readers at a book signing this Saturday, November 15 from 11:00-11:30 at the Salem South Lyon Library. This event would be a great Saturday activity for families and friends of all ages. Because my readers are so special to me, I'll have balloons, stuffed animals, coloring pages, and books ready for them at the book signing. I hope to see some friendly faces there!

Thank you for reading my Country Squawk,

Kelly

PS Happy Veterans Day!
